Son estas ilustraciones las que hacen realmente especial el libro, ya que muestran con delicadeza los edificios, plazas y canales de la ciudad italiana. Pequeños fragmentos de texto manuscrito acompañan las imágenes, dando la sensación de que nos hallamos ante un auténtico cuaderno de viaje.
The Three Wise Men know that nonna Maria has been very nice and this year they gave her a beautiful book named Venice Sketchbook. The text is written by Stéphane Denis and Tudy Sammartini, and the watercolors are by French artist Fabrice Moireau. Those illustrations make the book really special, as they show the buildings, piazze, and canals of the Italian city. Little fragments of handwritten text come along with the images, as if we were reading a real travel journal.
